GRAVERNE / OFF THE RECORD is a journalistic crime drama series that leads us into the personal and professional dilemmas of watchdog journalists.
The story
Liv (Mille Dinesen) is the idealistic leader of a small group of investigative journalists who work at the TV programme, Brændpunkt. The group investigates and exposes subversive activity, corruption, and the wrongdoings of those in power. When we meet the team, Brændpunkt has operated successfully for 15 years with Liv at the helm. But the media landscape is changing rapidly.
Liv and her husband, Adam (Afshin Firouzi), own the media company Agenda Productions that produces Brændpunkt and the daily, and somewhat lighter, news program Morgenland. The Cavling-winning editorial team has an impressive resume of journalistic cases, but it’s been a long time since it uncovered a major story. In an age where fast news, clickbait, and spin dominate the media landscape, the team's existence is threatened, and the threat of closure is hanging over their heads. However, an anonymous tip leads Liv and the rest of the team on a path of a sensational case which takes them all the way up to the highest levels of political power in Denmark.
The cast
In addition to Liv, the team consists of the experienced investigative journalist Hansen (Søren Malling), the headstrong gonzo journalist Alice (Lila Nobel), the ambitious intern Frederik (Clint Ruben) and the cool photographer Chris (Johanne Milland Pedersen). The cast also includes Katrine Greis-Rosenthal, Tina Gylling Mortensen, Filippa Suenson and Kenny Duerlund.
